Bumps in the network

Twice today I've had glitches in the network that connects all of the servers and computers in the house to the Internet. I first thought this morning that my main 8 port hub had locked up since a power off and on reset corrected the problem.

Just about ten minutes ago it failed again, this time it looks permanent. Fortunately I had a 16 port switch as a shelf spare acquired when a local CompUSA store closed and have replaced the bad switch with the newer one.  Looks like the network is now back up and working smoothly. I'll have to get a new switch as a spare but at least things are running again.

Just one of the little bumps in the road in the life of a network admin.
