So, nobody under 18 should read this, or whatever is the appropriate age in their community. This story deals with transgenderism in children and may be uncomfortable for some readers.

Kelly Girl -14- Floop and Happenstance

Melissa spoke in an odd echo of his own thoughts, "I dunno, Kelly, I just can't picture you as a boy?"

My Name is Luka

This story is based on one of my favorite songs by Suzanne Vega called Luka. Although the story is about an abused child, I've done my best to only suggest what has happened without getting into anything graphic. Just the same, it wasn't an easy story to write.

Kelly Girl -12- Permanent Dirt

"If you were a boy, why would you let me do a makeover on you?" she asked.

Lady Lionel

I’m sorry, I wandered again. So, Lynn gives me *the look* and we go to the kitchen to talk.

"Chris, you’ve been with me to the doctors. You heard what they said." She was crying.

"That Tommy is becoming aware that he is not like most other boys and they think he might be transgendered? I agree, I always thought he was too gentle a child to be a boy but then I was a quiet boy too. I wish we could do something for him but what is there other than to support him for now. When he’s older if he’s like this, I have no problems with him transitioning. I’d hate to lose a son but when I read about how many transsexuals kill themselves ... A live daughter beats a dead son hands down."
