Cindy has a problem, actually several.  Bobby Schmedlap has not redeemed the gift certificate from the Wizard's shop.  It seems it is getting close to the end of the fiscal year, and the magic universe would like to have it redeemed soon.  The trouble is that Bobby and his family don't believe it's real.  They think it's just a cruel hoax.  It's up to Cindy and Maddy to convince Bobby and his family that it is the real thing.  There's another problem.  What is Cindy going to tell her parents?

This is not a chapter of my storyline “Choices” but an independent story.  I hope you enjoy it as much as you do my “Choices” chapters.
This is a product of my imagination and as such belongs to me. If you like it or don’t, please let me know. That’s the only way I can get better.  Thanks.
SYNOPSIS:
Two families intertwined by destiny but will not be discovered until their daughters make the connection.
Linda Green was a single white female (straight) 30 years old who was very rich but very alone in this world; she seemed to have everything, her own business, money but no one to share it with,
Susan McKay (Gay) 26 years old, had been alone for about 6 months now (she also had money and a career) after she kicked out her last girlfriend after she found out she had been sleeping with someone else.

The Abattoir

It was about a month before my 13th birthday. Having come home from work unexpectedly, the Ogre---who was what passed for a masculine role model in my life---had decided to take one final stab at "making a man out of me" before writing me off forever as a hopeless little bitch...

"What the hell you cryin' for? You're a boy, nothing's gonna change that! What's that you're coverin' with your hand, huh? You think putting on a damn dress changes anything? Do you? Answer me, goddamn it!"

I stood there shivering, feeling horribly vulnerable. By now I didn't know what I was, or what would change what. I was sobbing, trying to nod my head yes and shake it no at the same time.

Part 1: Feels like Deja Vu

The faded brick façade of the outside walls, drew my eye. The sky was dark...it was after nightfall, a full moon overhead. Drawing steadily toward the back door, I noticed an industrial style yellow light that flickered on and off, casting odd shadows on the moonlit lawn as I closed in on the paved sidewalk that led to the door. The yellow light flickered, making a humming noise as it came on, silence...after it went off, some flying insect buzzing noisily around it, like a moth drawn to flame...as if just waiting for the light to flicker back on. Which it did after nary five seconds.

Cue music: Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.” Road Runner Theme - Barbara Cameron

The 426 Hemi roared, as I pushed the engine up to the magic number, 100 mph. Why Gloria decided that was the push point for activation of the AI, I still haven’t a clue. Well read in Sci-fi, and reasonably intelligent I might be, but no matter how many times she tried to explain it to me, well, let’s say there were geniuses, and then there was Gloria.
