New user accounts glitch sticky icon

Submitted by Bob Arnold - Posted on 2010, March 20 - 10:47am

A glitch in the way the site handles notification of new user accounts prevented me from seeing and approving over a dozen new accounts over the past three weeks or so. I've repaired the glitch and activated all the new accounts that I found out were pending.

If you haven't yet logged in then please try the password the site sent you. If that doesn't work you can have the site send you a new password. You can change your password once you're logged in by using the EDIT tab under the 'my account' link.

New features suggestions sticky icon

Submitted by Bob Arnold - Posted on 2009, August 6 - 9:28am

I've gotten several suggestions for new features and changes from various people. I do thank you for taking the time to let your desires for a better web site be known.

I use a content manager system called Drupal to run the site. I'm presently using version 5 of the software and support for that particular version will come to an end in early 2010. Since I have to do an upgrade of the software to the current version before then I'm going to hold off on making any changes to the current site. The new software has some new features and add-on modules to make some of the functionality you've suggested possible.

Stardust is NOT going to close but... sticky icon

Submitted by Bob Arnold - Posted on 2009, August 4 - 4:13pm

Stardust is NOT going to close but what remains to be determined is if someone else may take over running the site and if it might move to another server or stay where it is. If you are posting stories at other sites please continue to do so. As for stories posted exclusively on Stardust they will remain on the site and the site will continue to operate.

I do want the site to grow but I'm uncertain that I'm the correct person to make that happen. I'm considering the options of turning the responsibility for daily operations to someone else and possibly moving the site to a different server.

I got a new toy!

Submitted by Bob Arnold - Posted on 2010, March 19 - 11:37am

I've been keeping an eye on the digital SLR camera market recently and Canon has finally released their new Rebel T2i model. Mine arrived today and I'm quite impressed with the overall quality of the camera itself and the pictures and HD video it takes. It shoots still photos at 18 megapixels and HD video at 1080p at 30 frames per second. The few test images and video I've taken so far are incredible!

When I'm a bit more familiar with how it works and what the ka-jillion buttons and knobs do I'll take some pics and video to post. If anyone is interested that is...

I stood nervously in Arrivals, butterflies in my stomach. Why had I ever agreed to this reunion in the first place?

Gaby:BOOK 2 Summer Girl*Part 59*School's Out for Summer!

"Hi Mrs Peters, its Drew"

"Hi Drew, did you have a good trip?"

"Yes thanks"

"Everyone I know watched the coverage, I didn't realise it was such a big thing"

"It was pretty awesome"

"But you're ringing about something else?"

"Well er, I was sort of hoping"

"Don't worry Drew, the shop rang me about an hour ago to say that it had arrived, I was just going to fetch it when you rang. Do you want to come with me?" she offered

Well it would keep me out of trouble.

I WAS BURGLED!

Submitted by stanman63 - Posted on 2010, March 16 - 3:33am

Tonight, 4 men kicked in my front door and tried to rob me! One had a gun! Luckily, my brother keeps a gun by him and scared them off. But they returned and shot at him as he was checking things outside! Luckily, the shooter missed! Again, LUCK was with us as the Police know the local vagrants, and now they have a description of two who can identify them.

“You won’t believe who we just see in the lobby, Ryuku-san,” Said Sadao Koba.

“Who is that?”

“The dancer, Kristi Yamaguchi. She was just here.”

“Sadao-san, you are mistaken. That was not Kristi Yamaguchi who we just passed,” Ryuku said. ‘Hung over men and their fantasies.’

“Man say she with FBI,” Sadao said insistently.

Tsuki tried correcting her friend. “No, they say she from February.”
