Forlornly, George stared out his window. The nasty frozen stuff was really coming down. Big, heavy, wet, white clumps of snow tumbled downward until they disintegrated smashing into the ground.

The best Christmas ever

“Well” I thought to myself, “it worked”. It was odd, just a moment before I had been feeling so incredibly happy and now here I was in the depths of depression.

“I finally managed to become the woman I’ve always wanted to be and here it has just fucked my life all out of recognition.” I said these words to the image of the teenager in the mirror.

“Omygod, he’s gonna freak when he gets home and sees this waiting for him. I can’t be any older than 17 and here I am waiting for my husband of 21 years to get home and see me. What the fuck am I gonna do? He’s never gonna believe that I’m me.!”

Kate looked at her husband, the strong but gentle man she loved so dearly, and found a new depth of feeling for him.. She hugged him close as if he were a child. “It's all right,” she said. “It's fine. Why don't we take the monkey home. And if you want to be Sally for a little while, that's fine too.”

“It's not that,” said Brad. “I just wish we both could have had Christmas without pain. I just wish we could have some good memories about Christmas as kids.”

Gift of Time

Gordon did not know what to think when Dave first walked in with Simon. He had been looking forward to cooling out with the guys after yet another unpleasant week. Working temporary jobs was rarely nice, but he was still unable to find anything else. His times spent with the guys were one of the few ways he got to escape real life, if only for just a few hours.

A Christmas Visit

A Christmas Visit

The early winter storm raged, slashing and tearing with icy blades at the weary Christmas decorations along the street vainly trying shine though the wintery onslaught. Ice glazed the poorly heated apartment windows erasing all signs of the holiday season as the storm howled.

Christmas Surprise

Spring Hills was in a state of total excitement! The small mountain town full of eclectic little shops and mostly geared towards the tourist trade went all out for the major holidays. Christmas this year would be no exception. Now Spring Hills wouldn’t forget about the religious meaning of this holiday, but that was mostly left for the churches and the individual families. The town itself was going all out for the business end and the commercial pageantry that would draw these tourists into town.

I remember Christmas four years ago, very distinctly. How could I forget? That is when my whole life turned topsy-turvy. That was the year that Mom and I went to visit Susan, my sister in Vegas. She was a showgirl there, and invited us down there to catch their show.

Lyrics included at the end of the story.
