Character Age
If you think it is important to the reader looking for your story-type to know the age of the characters, include one or more age categories. If you've picked an Age Regression or Age Progression Theme, then it would be good to pick two of these probably. This is NOT the age of the intended audience.
Infant
One year old or less, approximately.
Toddler
Two to four or even five, maybe.
Child
5 or 6 up to 9 or 10, approximately. You can stretch it up to 12 if you like but 10 to 12 is probably best considered pre-teen.
Preteen or Intermediate
Basically 10 to 14, you can use just the lower end if you like, for Preteen, or the upper end for Intermediate, Middle or Junior High School.
Teenage or High School
Figure 13/14 to 17/18/19. Depends on person and school.
Young Adult or College
18 to 29 or 18 to 23 or some such.
Mature Adult
Anything from 24 up or 30 up, depends how you figure things.
Senior Adult
You define this.
